It is already my favorite time of the year: Pumpkin Spice Latte season. While we are blessed with pumpkin syrup in our lattes, it is also a sign that Halloween is coming soon. It may not be on your agenda to celebrate it the American way or go to a costume party even, but this year it is actually possible to experience Halloween in a very unusual and spooky way.
The famous San Francisco Dungeon, Alcatraz is opening its doors for visitors to stay over during Halloween. It is the first time in the history that people will be able to accommodate there willingly – in fact willingly enough to pay 666$ overnight.
Coming with a symbolic price tag, the experience offered is a full package of spookiness. There will be prisoner pajamas, broken mirrors, shadows, black cats, open umbrellas, snacks and scary bed-time stories in store for visitors, inside ghostly prison cells.
Good news is that the visitors will be served a lovely breakfast the next morning – if they survive all this craziness and manage to stay the full night.
This may all sound a bit too eerie but if you are feeling adventurous, looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience and around San Francisco during that time, this may be something for you.
ps. Overnight bookings for October 30th and 31st will become available on Friday, October 13th at 10:13 a.m.
