Conceptual Airbnb rooms and houses are on the rise and make the travelling experience even more interesting for some. A recent example in Canada welcomes visitors into the world of Wes Anderson, a modern auteur and one of the most extraordinary directors ever. It is often that we find traces of Anderson’s unique creativity in advertisements, games and songs. And this time, it actually fills a house.
Located in Prince Edward County in Ontario, Mr. Anderson’s House is a property available on Airbnb. The owner, Dayna Winter is an art major and a fan who designed the entire house according to Wes Anderson movies. Saying that she always wanted to be a Tenenbaum, she makes it possible for visitors to actually become a Tenenbaum and more, or at least feel like it for a while.
Dayna calls the house a love letter to Anderson as well as an evolving art project. Dedicated to her favorite director, the interiors reflect on the motifs from Anderson’s movies through special objects and pastel colors.
The house includes two bedrooms, inspired by The Royal Tenenbaums and The Moonrise Kingdom. Then there is the living room based on The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Even though the rooms are filled with iconic items such as the fur coat that could very well belong to Margot Tenenbaum, the house is still designed to make it feel like home instead of an unrealistic movie set.
The theme is beautifully blended through details and colors into the house that still remains to be comfortable and down-to-earth. For Wes Anderson fans travelling around Prince Edward County, it seems quite appealing. Indeed, it is appealing enough that the house is almost fully booked until the end of 2017!
